“Great mediterranean food! I got the Chicken Kabob Platter, my husband got the Super Platter, and we got a side of hummus. Everything was delicious and plates were clean and good looking. I thought there were servers upon first walking in, but it's more like a fast-food set up where you order, take a seat, and then they call your number. They sell fountain drinks for $1.99, which is very fair - Pepsi products and also sell bottled drinks. We opted for a fountain drink. They also let us sample some donut type of dessert. Very good, reminded me of a fried donut that's soaked in corn syrup to let it get that wet and crunchy flavor. Lamb was cooked well, meat fell off the bone. The chicken kebab's were seasoned to perfection and so soft. Very flavorful dish: baba ghanoush tasted very smoky/charcoaly, tahini salad was light and fresh with the crunch of the cucumber, and tabbouleh salad was minty and sour (from the lime). All in all, the plates felt very light and were so so good. Can't praise this restaurant enough. Hummus was amazing, just wish they offered Pita Chips instead of Pita bread as I'm used to eating Hummus with a bit of a crunch. Very clean, everything is freshly painted. Booths were flat though so don't sit too hard. I think the restaurant is new-ish (Nov, 2025) and today is Feb 7, 2026. The restaurant gives family vibes and it's good to support small businesses! Would recommend and can't wait till I'm in the area again to try something else. Reminds me of Jerusalem Bakery in Georgia.”

The lentil soup was rich and comforting. It leaned a little heavier on the curry than I personally prefer, but that’s simply a matter of taste, it was still delicious, and we finished every last spoonful. If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Mediterranean food at a great price, this place is absolutely worth visiting. They don’t serve alcohol, which is pretty typical for many Mediterranean restaurants, and honestly, the food is more than enough reason to go. I only wish more people would venture into places like this instead of sticking to the big chains. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the Pelham area again.”

The baba ghanoush, hummus, and Tahini salad (tomato/cucumber) are served with the entrees and the amount equates to an appetizer. The baba ghanoush has a smoky flavor and is perfect. The beef kabob or kafta is ground beef with the right amount of spice and sprinkled with Sumac. If you want a little heat it's served with a grilled jalapeno. The yellow rice is a Basmati grain and cooked perfectly. The pita bread was okay and just a personal choice it would be best served if it was grilled a little on each side. The only thing missing, garlic sauce. The flavors and quality of the food resonates with the kitchens of restaurants like Sahara or the Pita Cafe in Oak Park, MI. You get a lot of protein, great rice, and authentic middle eastern sides. I appreciate the owners have brought quality food to Pelham. This is not a fast food or commercial Mediterranean restaurant, this is a cooked to order establishment. Order online if you dont want to wait but either way, you will be pleased with the quality and affordability this Middle Eastern restrauant delivers.”

“There are a lot of great reviews about Shaami and every single one of them is well deserved! We’ve been here twice for takeout and once for dine in and all three experiences have been wonderful. The staff is very friendly and we are always greeted with enthusiasm and a smile. The food is also consistently great. We’ve tried the cheesesteak sandwich and the beef sandwich, and while they are closer to wraps because of the pita, they are incredibly flavorful and delicious. Last time we added a side of falafel which was the perfect texture and came with a great dipping sauce. We’ve also had the mixed shawarma platter and the lamb kebab platter and both came with so much food we made 2-3 meals out of each. They pack a lot of flavor into each dish and several come with some variation of a pickled vegetable! Finally, the speed the food comes out is quick and it all carries very well. I waited less than 10 minutes when I picked up last and they gave me a falafel ball to snack on while I waited. I highly recommend you give this family business a try if you’re in the Pelham area!”

Place was mostly empty so we were unsure; but this is definitely one of those hidden gems that people must not know about yet! The person who took our order was very friendly, the food did not take very long to prepare and was absolutely delicious!!! Was just in Egypt recently a this food tasted very authentic, fresh and made with love! We split a meat trio platter, got our own lentil soup and a piece of pistachio baklava as a treat to share. The lamb, and beef was so tender and flavorful. The rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The hummus and baba ganoush were perfect accompaniments. The chefs kiss 🤌🏼 definitely goes to the baklava. “Love fresh Mediterranean food. Ordered the lamb shank platter. The lamb shank had great flavors with the babaganoush, pickle veggies, rice , and garlic sauce. I saw the reviews and called in letting the restaurant know I had a 90 minute drive still to go and will be there 20 minutes prior to closing. The employee was kind and told me no problem. I order my food prior and It was fresh made perfect time. Delicious!!”

“Have heard nothing but great things about Shaami and it held up to the hype! The chicken shawarma, chicken kabob and beef kufta plates were all huge and delicious. 4 adults split the 3 to-go portions of these and there were leftovers still. Tons of space inside to dine in as well. Would be awesome if they setup a fridge to easily grab containers of hummus, baba ganoush and the other salads on the fly!”
